How ComfortSkool handles your data

A browser extension for admins of a Skool community. This document covers the whole extension — there is no separate policy elsewhere.

ComfortSkool flags posts and comments in a Skool community you administer that match rules you define — for example, a link posted by a member who isn't premium, VIP, or a moderator. Everything it reads and stores stays on your own computer. Here's exactly what that means, section by section.

Single purpose

ComfortSkool exists to help community admins moderate Skool posts and comments. It watches the Skool group you configure, evaluates each post/comment against your rules, and lists any matches in a side panel with a desktop notification. It does nothing else — no analytics, no advertising, no unrelated features.

What it reads

To evaluate your rules, ComfortSkool reads data your browser already receives from Skool while you use it:

Post & comment content Title and body text, checked for links and against your text-match rules.
Author identity Handle and display name, so a match can be attributed to who posted it.
Membership tier & role Free/premium/VIP tier and admin/moderator/member role — only visible to you because you're a group admin.
Attachments Whether an image, file, or video is attached — not the file itself.

This comes from Skool's own page data and its _next/data and notification API responses — never from a separate scrape or a data broker.

Where it's stored

chrome.storage.local

Your rules, settings, flagged items, and a record of read Skool notifications live in your browser's local extension storage — tied to this browser profile, on this device. It is not Chrome-synced, not backed up to any account, and not readable by other extensions or websites.

Nothing is copied to a database, a log, or a server ComfortSkool operates — because none exists.

What it never does

Never transmitted elsewhere. The only network requests ComfortSkool makes are to www.skool.com and api2.skool.com — the same servers your browser already talks to when you use Skool. No third-party server, ad network, or analytics endpoint is ever contacted.
Never sold or shared. No data ComfortSkool touches is sold, rented, or shared with any third party, for advertising or otherwise.
Never used off-purpose. Data is used only to evaluate your rules and show you the results — never for profiling, credit or lending decisions, or anything outside that single purpose.
No remote code. Every line of code ComfortSkool runs ships inside the extension package itself — nothing is fetched or evaluated at runtime.

Permissions, plainly

Each Chrome permission ComfortSkool requests, and what it's actually for:

storageSaves your rules, settings, and flagged items locally, so they persist between sessions.
alarmsRuns the background poll for new flagged items and Skool notifications on the interval you set.
notificationsShows a desktop notification when a rule catches something, so you don't have to keep the panel open.
sidePanelHosts the rules editor and flagged list docked next to the Skool page.
tabsChecks which open tab is on skool.com, so the panel only activates there — never reads page content through this permission.
skool.com / api2.skool.comLets the extension read Skool's own post, member, and notification data to run your rules against it.

Retention & deletion

Flagged items stay until you click Remove or Mark reviewed them, or delete the rule that caught them (with the option to purge that rule's matches at the same time). Uninstalling ComfortSkool deletes all of its local storage immediately — there is no copy anywhere else to also remove.

Who this is for

ComfortSkool is a tool for adults administering their own Skool community and is not directed at children. It's only useful to someone with group-admin access to a Skool community, since only admins can see other members' tiers.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the version and effective date at the top of this page will change with it. Material changes will also be noted in the extension's changelog.
